Signs from Above
Multimedia exhibition in partnership with the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery and Denison Library
February - March 2025 / Scripps College’s Denison Library
After noticing the diverse and charming representations of birds in the Williamson Gallery’s collections, I was inspired to develop this exhibition that explores the significance of birds in artwork, drawing comparisons across cultures, religions, and time (over 1000 years!). The exhibition grew into a partnership with Denison Library, drawing in additional works to the project from Denison’s archival collections and serving as the final location of display.
The exhibition featured four of my own works (seen above), drawing contemporary connections to historic work and mythology.

This exhibition hosted two curator walkthroughs during its one-month run. The second event featured a partnership with the San Dimas Canyon Nature Center who brought one of their animal ambassadors (a northern saw-whet owl) for an educational owl workshop. This walkthrough was also attended by an Animal Communications class from Pomona College.
